Our Fees
Self-funding Your Care
At Surrey Psychiatry, we welcome self-funding patients seeking private psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and ongoing mental health support. Self-funding offers flexibility and direct access to experienced psychiatrists without the need for lengthy waiting times or GP referrals in most cases. Our team will provide clear information about consultation fees and treatment costs before your appointment, ensuring transparency and support throughout your care journey.
Some patients may choose to access psychiatric care through their private medical insurance provider. Depending on your policy, your insurer may cover all or part of the costs associated with psychiatric assessments, follow-up appointments, therapy or medication reviews. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to discuss your level of cover and any authorisation requirements prior to booking your appointment.
Self-funded fees
We are recognised by most major insurance companies. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider to ensure that you are adequately covered for the treatments we provide. Self-payment to be made before the session. Please see DNA and cancellation information.

Important information
Know Your Benefits Before You Begin
We require at least 7 days notice if you wish to cancel your psychiatry appointment. If not sufficient notice is provided, then the full consultation fee will be charged. There is a non refundable £200 for all new patient psychiatry appointment cancellations and a non refundable £100 for all follow-up appointments.
If paying with PMI, before attending your appointment, it is important to confirm your mental health cover with your insurance provider. We advise checking whether your policy includes outpatient psychiatry services, ADHD or Autism assessments, therapy sessions and medication management, as coverage can vary between insurers and policies.
You may also need a referral letter from your GP and a pre-authorisation number before treatment begins. Our administrative team will be happy to assist with any information you may need ahead of your appointment.
