Getting started with Surrey Psychiatry is simple. Patients can contact us directly or complete our self-referral form to begin the process. In most cases, a GP referral is not required for private psychiatric care.

Your initial psychiatric assessment is an opportunity for your clinician to gain a detailed understanding of your symptoms, emotional wellbeing, medical history and personal experiences. We take a thoughtful, personalised approach to ensure treatment recommendations are tailored to your individual needs.
Following your assessment, your psychiatrist may recommend ongoing support, therapy, medication management, further specialist assessments or follow-up appointments depending on your circumstances and goals.

Our fees
We are recognised by most major insurance companies. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider to ensure that you are adequately covered for the treatments we provide. Self-payment to be made before the session. Please see DNA and cancellation information.
Fees for Initial Psychiatric Assessment
ADULT: £395 per 60-90 minute assessment
C&A: £595 per 60-90 minute assessment
Fees for Follow up Appointments
ADULT: £205 per 30 minute follow up
C&A: £235 per 30 minute follow up
ADHD and ASD Assessments
ADULT: From £1000 per assessment

How do I book an appointment?
Your initial psychiatric assessment is an opportunity for your clinician to gain a detailed understanding of your symptoms, emotional wellbeing, medical history and personal experiences. We take a thoughtful, personalised approach to ensure treatment recommendations are tailored to your individual needs.
Following your assessment, your psychiatrist may recommend ongoing support, therapy, medication management, further specialist assessments or follow-up appointments depending on your circumstances and goals.
Appointments are available both online and in-person at our Guildford psychiatry clinic.
Do you charge cancellation fees?
We require at least 7 days notice if you wish to cancel your psychiatry appointment. If not sufficient notice is provided, then the full consultation fee will be charged. There is a non refundable £200 for all new patient psychiatry appointment cancellations and a non refundable £100 for all follow-up appointments.
Do you provide therapy as well as psychiatry?
Yes. At Surrey Psychiatry, we offer both psychiatric and psychotherapeutic services to provide comprehensive, personalised mental health care. Our psychiatrists can assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including prescribing and reviewing medication where appropriate.
Alongside psychiatric care, we also provide evidence-based psychotherapy and psychological support and DBT to help individuals understand their experiences, develop effective coping strategies and achieve long-term emotional wellbeing. By offering both psychiatry and psychotherapy, we are able to provide an integrated approach to mental health care tailored to each individual’s needs.
Is everything I share confidential?
Sessions are confidential, with limited legal exceptions related to safety, which your clinician will explain during your first session.
Do you see children and adolescents?
Yes. We provide specialist child and adolescent psychiatric services for a range of emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties.
